In an effort to be more interesting...

Tonight Beth and I went to volunteer training at TPAC tonight. That basically means we volunteer, like handing out programs, or greeting people at the front door, and then get to watch the shows for free!!! Woohoo! Just in time for Wicked, which I desperately want to see, but not for $85!

Then, in an effort to not become (more) boring, I decided to make a pointed effort at social activity tonight and went to the blues dance. I was fun to get my groove on for a while and see some people I don't see often. I've been toying with the idea of taking dance lessons again, but I'm not sure if I'm really ready to do the time and money.

I've also been toying with the idea of school, but I'm pretty sure I'd rather just be a well-rounded hobby person and be the house mom. We'll see.

Yesterday was my first official day as assistant manager at the store, and I enjoy having more responsibilities and things to make the day go by faster. It's back-to-school time, which means busy...and busy is definitely good.

Family Pic

Sure, you can go to Walmart and sit for an hour waiting for your turn at family portraits, or you could just go home, figure out how to work your camera timer, and get this...

A Fourth to Remember

Beth and I haven't been in the States to celebrate many 4ths, and when we were in China, we pretty much used everything as an excuse to celebrate, so when we couldn't remember what we did for the 4th last year, we were really stumped. Beth consulted her handy dandy blog to see what was going on last year...we were flying over the ocean. That's why we couldn't remember a grand 4th party. :)

So last night we set out to celebrate even though our grilling got rained out. We went to see the downtown firework show even though the news talked about huge rain storms and possible tornados. The fireworks were pretty impressive, even standing in the heaviest rain I've ever experienced! We were SOAKED. But it was fun, and certainly memorable. Even more memorable was the impromptu dance party that happened after we got back, just me, Justin, and Beth. Now THAT was a time. :)
