And speaking of coincidences...

Jason brought up the other night all of the "random" things that had to line up for me to find the church I'm now going to...

1. He and Erin were supposed to present a lesson to their community group, but at the last minute it got pushed to the next week.
2. The next week, Erin and Jason need to prepare for their lesson, so I watched Lucy while they went to Starbucks.
3. Jason's ipad just happened to be facing toward other patrons instead of away.
4. A guy walked by and saw the book of Ezekiel open on Jason's ipad and commented, "Cool book." Thus opening conversation.
5. At some point in this conversation, the guy (his name is Christian) gives Erin and Jason a business card for a church he and some others are planting.
6. Erin and Jason are already involved in a church, so Erin gave the business card to me.
7. I immediately think, yeah, I should try this out, and am excited to go in a few weeks, on the first Sunday the church meets.
8. The week The Road starts is the same weekend Jamie is in town, and I feel torn about going to church with the group or heading off to this church by myself. I decide I really want to be a part of the first service, so I go.
9. I pull up in this school parking lot and only see 3 or 4 other cars. I think, "What am I doing here?!" But as soon as I stepped through the doors, I instantly liked every person there.

Of note: How cool is it that the people who are planting this church JUST moved to the area...just like me! And how cool is it that God has placed me in a small group of people that feels so much like a house church like when I lived in... you-know-where! And how cool is it that each of them has just uprooted their lives and moved to a new place, not knowing exactly what was coming, but knowing that God was all over it?! Sounds sort of familiar.  :)

It took FOREVER to find a church home in Nashville after China, and I do miss Ethos! But I'm so thankful that God has been so quick to act in this area of my life here in Denver. What a blessing! The people at The Road REALLY love Jesus. And they love His word. And they love to worship. I'm so excited to see what comes of this growing Family!

An Interesting Timeline of Events..

I don't know exactly where this is going, but I'd like to lay out a few things that are happening.

1. I move to Denver and at my brother's urging join Crossfit.
2. The same week I join Crossfit, they begin a Whole 30 nutrition challenge, which is strict paleo eating.
3. Erin and Jason have been interested in paleo eating but not really had the time for all the prep.
4. I have time to cook and enjoy it, so I cook for myself and the Fassls.
     a. They get yummy food they don't have to prepare.
     b. I get the added support of everyone in the house eating the way I am!
5. Erin mentions that this would be a good business idea: preparing paleo foods for busy people who don't have time to cook - maybe making weekly or biweekly deliveries to local Crossfit gyms.
6. I think this is a great idea.
7. I am taking classes currently on how to manage a food business and cook for others in a safe way.
8. I realize it's overwhelming to figure out where to begin or how to even google what I'm trying to do.
9. Susan Manke sends me this website: http://www.briansbowls.com/ of someone in California doing just what I want to do!
10. After a little searching, I realize you have to cook in a certified kitchen. :(
11. Our kitchen is certainly not certified.
12. After a brief search, I find the term kitchen co-op, and find a place SUPER close that offers hourly rental of their certified kitchen for people wanting to start their own small food business.

As Erin said tonight, what are the odds of all these things lining up?

So who knows where any of this will lead, but I find the timeline of events very interesting. I love how I have not ever had a really specific idea of what I want to do with my nutrition degree, but I think Jesus does, and He's working it out before my very eyes! I also have my first volunteer orientation with Cooking Matters next week, an organization that offers nutrition education and cooking classes to low income families. So who knows where that will lead?!

We talked in Bible study last night about these verses:
No one can receive a single thing unless it's given to him from heaven.  John 3:27
and
Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above... James 1:17

Every "coincidence", "chance meeting", and all the things just "working out" here in Denver are so much more. Each is a gift from above and evidence each day that our God is a God who provides! I'm excited to see what He has next on this adventure.

It Zips!!

As you know, I bought this amazing dress for my Thriller performance at the end of the month. It wouldn't zip, but it was only $8, and I figured I could make it work. After 16 days eating the Whole 30 way...
